The Three P's

Before we moved to Georgia, Patrick and I had a few fellowships where we shared our "story" and also talked about different ways people could support us and Lake Point Church.  You can read our story  here.  Many of our friends attended these events, but a lot of people weren't able to.  I am going to share with you all the "Three P's" of how you can support us.

-  Pray for this transition.  This is something many of you have done!  And we so appreciate it!  Please continue to pray for our family and pray for Lake Point Church and the city of Emerson, Georgia.  We will continue to post prayer requests here on the blog.

-  Promote this opportunity.  You may ask "what opportunity?"  Lake Point Church, of course!  We love to share our "story" of how God led us to Georgia.  We love for OTHERS to share our story of how God led us to Georgia!  We are just simple, ordinary people who are following God's call for our lives.  We want our story to encourage others to do big things for God everyday.  It may not always be in the form of picking your family up and moving to a new state.  But pray always and listen to what God is telling you.  When you feel Him telling you to do something, do it!  You will be blessed for your obedience.  So, I say all that to say, please share our story with others!
Here are some other ways you can promote us:

• Share our blog on your Facebook page.  There are links at the bottom of every blog post that will let you easily do that.  If you have a blog of your own, we would love for you to feature our family and direct people to our blog page.
• Share Lake Point Church's website on your Facebook page.
• Put one of our prayer cards up on your church bulletin board.  I can either mail you copies of this or send you a PDF file to print yourself and distribute!  Just email me at rebahoo@gmail.com.  
• If your church has a Facebook page, please share our blog on their Facebook page!  Social media is amazing!  Get the word out.
• Tell anyone who will listen about what God is doing in Emerson, Georgia.  We will have a post on Monday discussing this in detail so that you will have some information to share with others.  Let me just say, God is moving and we are feeling so blessed to get to be a witness to it.  

-  Pledge your financial support.  Did I save the best (or worst?) for last??  I am going to go right out there and say it is very hard asking people for money.  Patrick and I took a huge leap of faith moving here.  Way back in July, God told us with 100% certainty "I want you to move to Georgia, and I want you to be there by January of 2013".  Not "move to Georgia once your house is sold and Patrick has a steady income in Georgia."  So, here we are, jobless and with two house payments (thankfully one is just rent!)  I am a stay at home mom and I pray every day that I am able to continue to do this.  Patrick is the bread winner for our family.  Right now, he doesn't have a job.  He is working every day on looking for a job.  At some point in the future there will come a point when he is a paid staff member for Lake Point Church, but we do not know right now when that will be.  So until that point he is going to be bi-vocational.  We are looking for people to pledge to support us financially until the time comes when Lake Point Church is able to pay him a salary.  It is very easy to make donations online at Lake Point Church's website.  Click here to be taken directly to the donations page.  All donations are tax deductible.  You can choose to give to Lake Point Church's general fund or directly to the Hooton family.  If you have any questions, once again, please email me at rebahoo@gmail.com.

Dear friends, this is what we ask you do to.  We ask you to PRAY and ask God to reveal himself to you today.  Ask God to lead you to do one (or more) of the three P's I have shared with you.  Pray, Promote, Pledge.
