Rebekah had this idea to each write a post about our weekend from our own perspective:
We had a great visit. We got to spend time with our new Lake Point family. I am daily amazed at how God has brought us from where we were to where we are now and on to where we will be. We (Rebekah and I) have no doubt that Georgia is where God is sending us, but it's the details and the planning that has become a giant for me. Those of you who know me best, know that it's really hard for me to do anything without a plan and without having all the details in front of me. We spent a lot of time talking about giants in our lives this weekend. We all have giants that we must face and overcome with God's help. Likewise, when we get to a point that we realize that we can no longer overcome a giant on our own, it's at that point that Jesus steps in and says, "I got this." When we are facing the giant of sin and shame in our lives that we can't seem to get rid of, Jesus says "My grace is sufficient for you." When we are facing the giant of finances, Jesus says, "Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will added to you." This is the biggest lesson I got from this weekend: Trust God, seek Him, and He will take care of the giants. We have no reason to run from or fear difficult times in our lives, because God did not give us a spirit of fear.
We are really excited to be moving to this new phase of our life. God is moving and I consider it a blessing that He is allowing me to come along for the ride!
Jesus and I had a, well a "come to Jesus" meeting where basically I accepted that He has the perfect plan for what to do with our house in Tuscaloosa. He has the perfect job for me in Cartersville. And He has already picked out the perfect place for us to live there. Not only has He already picked it out, but according to Scripture, He had that stuff picked out long before I ever existed! "All the days ordained for me were written in Your book long before they came to be" Psalm 139:16
My prayer, and I ask that you do the same, is that God would reveal Himself in such a way with our house, my job, and Lake Point Church that the only possible explanation is "God moved."
